Margie, Josh, and I are so excited to be apart of what God is doing around the globe. This summer God has called each of us to be a part of what he is doing in Ethiopia and in Honduras. As Margie and I go to Ethiopia and Josh and I go to Honduras, we choose to trust that the Holy Spirit will show up and work mightily in and through us. As David Platt so eloquently puts in his book Radical, "God delights in using ordinary Christians who come to the end of themselves and choose to trust in his extraordinary provision. He stands ready to allocate his power to all who are radically dependent on him and radically devoted to making much of him." God put a call in each of our lives to go and we responded with willingness. We are ordinary Christians who are utterly dependent on God and are devoted to making much of him throughout this world.
As we take the steps in faith to go, we boldly proclaim that we are at the end of ourselves. We recognize that it is not us who is at work, but God working in and through us. We expect that God is going to put us "in positions where we are desperate for his power, and then he shows his provision in ways that display his greatness." (Platt)
Thank you for journeying with us as we go. Thank you for sending us. Thank you for your support with both finances and prayers. Thank you for helping us come to the end of ourselves so that we can make God's name great in this world.
